Biography

Originally from Great Britain, UK, Philip Paty, MD, FACS, is double board certified in general and vascular surgery and practices at Vascular Health Partners. Dr. Paty received his medical degree from Albany Medical College, where he was also Chief Resident for his general surgery residency. He also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in physiology at Albany Medical College and his vascular surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Paty is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is an active member of multiple regional and national vascular societies, including the Society of Vascular Surgery, the Eastern Vascular Society, and the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery. He has served as Chief of Vascular Surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital and as the Medical Director of the Karmody Vascular Laboratory at Albany Medical Center.

He has a longstanding history of commitment to research in the field of vascular surgery. He has completed dozens of research studies and is actively engaged in many more to further his field of study. Dr. Paty has been published in hundreds of book chapters and publications and has conducted numerous scientific exhibits and presentations. Over the past 30 years, he has developed many programs in surgical arenas to improve care. Dr. Paty is well known throughout the Capital Region and beyond and is well respected by his colleagues and patients.
